Look at me, 2 posts in a week’s time! #winning
Many weekends lately I’ve found that I either don’t take enough pictures over the weekend or don’t do enough fun stuff to make a blog post about my weekend sound exciting, but this weekend was a pretty fun one! I feel like once it gets warm outside, the weekend activities start to multiply. Let’s begin, shall we?
Right after work on Friday, I speed walked about 12 blocks (in 95 degree heat, no less) to the movie theater…past the future site of the new Kings arena! I can’t believe how much progress they’ve made in just a few short months. We went to see San Andreas and Jurassic World…it was definitely an action-packed evening! I actually ended up liking both movies more than I expected to.
On Saturday, Russell & I road tripped it up to Lake County for a gathering of family & friends to celebrate his new nephew, Daniel Russell! (How about that middle name? 
) He is a super sweet little dude, and has great taste in sunglasses if I do say so myself. It was an afternoon filled with drinks, great food, and a lot of family members’ names for me to remember 
On Sunday after spending the night in Russell’s brother’s trailer (actually much better than it sounds!), we headed back bright and early to make it to our softball game. I was surprised and excited to see that my dad and grandpa, who had just arrived from New York came to watch our game! My brother played paparazzi (see above) and we beat the first place team by a mere 17 or so runs.
Afterward we headed back to my parents house to celebrate Father’s Day with Mom’s home-cooked pasta and an ice cream pie to finish it off. It was great to be able to spend the day with my grandpa who I hadn’t seen in almost 2 years! Living on opposite coasts I’m sure it had been a while since he got to spend Father’s Day with my mom, so all in all it was a special day to top of a special weekend!
